Pictures!

Alright... it's about time I put these up, here we go!

This was week 5, right after we found out. That's pretty much fat/bloat in that picture.

Last week, 16 weeks - for the record, I could finally say that I saw more baby bump than belly fat at 15 weeks.

This was tonight, I was kinda laughing. 17 weeks

17 Weeks

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

How far along? 17 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Up 1 from last week, down 2 over all. I guess The weight gain is officially on. I would like to be even come 20 weeks, but we'll see how it works, especially after my craving tonight.

Maternity clothes? Jeans I'm in full time. I have some shirts I can still wear though.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep? I wake up about once a night now. Though, I don't always have to get up.

Best moment this week? Hearing the heartbeat again at the appointment.

Movement? Not yet.

Food cravings? We were wandering Target tonight and all the Easter stuff is out. That reminded me of the Little Debbie Easter Cakes, the white cakes (Zebra cakes) with the sprinkles on top. Zebra cakes won't do the job as they have stripes in icing, not sprinkles on top. Luckily, they had some. Why is it always sweets??

Gender? It will be a boy. We both really want a girl so we're getting a boy. Though, all but 3 people (who have not taken this poll) say girl, and of course, the gender test from Target says girl too. I don't want to get my hopes up though.

Labor signs? Nope.

What I miss? Pants will belt loops.

What I'm looking forward to? Vanessa finding out what she's having tomorrow!

Weekly Wisdom: None this week. Have I even had wisdom?

Milestones: Nothing new this week.

Emotions: Well, yesterday at Jason's concert, for the first time, he thanked me during the same part when he thanked the administration and the parents. He thought I'd roll my eyes, but instead, I got teary eyed during the whole next tune.

Poll time!

I have put up the gender poll. Our big ultrasound appointment is March 25th at 3:30. So, to break everything down so that you can make the best, most educated guess possible...

We want a girl
Cravings have consisted of mostly junk food and sweets (non chocolate)
All but 1 old wives tale test has given the result of boy
All but 2 people that don't have a preference for one or the other (not family) says girl
Only 1 dream since being pregnant has not been about sex. It was me telling my sister she was going to have a niece
And lastly, took the $30 gender prediction test today (thanks to my sister) and it went unchanged, which says indicates a girl

So, there you go. Guess away! I'll close it at 6 on the 24th.

Something to plan

So, I honestly do not think I have a friend that would volunteer to throw the baby shower. That means, my sister will be "throwing" it for me. I say "throwing" it because she will actually host it and lead everything, but she is still in school and will need me to help put things together that I either want to do or want to see. So, I called the place that we used for our wedding invitations to set up a design session, and they closed at the end of February. That makes me very sad. So, having planned a wedding for outside the state, I feel like I'm starting from scratch on everything! Cake, invitations, and whatever else comes with it.

Recommendations please? :)

16 Weeks!

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

How far along? 16 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain/loss? Up 2 from last week, down 3 over all.

Maternity clothes? Jeans I'm in full time. I have some shirts I can still wear though.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep? I wake up about once a night now. Last night I woke up at 3 and couldn't fall back asleep till 5. Then, Jason's alarm went off at 5:30! Ugh.

Best moment this week? Finalizing the nursery!

Movement? Not yet.

Food cravings? I actually wanted Jamba Juice this week! Something healthier than Smarties!

Gender? It will be a boy. We both really want a girl so we're getting a boy.

Labor signs? Nope.

What I miss? Pants will belt loops.

What I'm looking forward to? My appointment on Monday.

Weekly Wisdom: None this week.

Milestones: Finalizing the nursery!

Emotions: None this week either. Pretty boring.

We have a plan!

I'm so relieved that it sounds like we have our plan for the nursery! Not the bedding of course, but one step at a time.

So, we know that I wanted to do Peter Pan. I was clueless how to go about it though. We thought about doing the squares on the wall and putting the Peter Pan pictures we have in random squares, but then it would be a "square theme with Peter Pan pictures", but it wouldn't be a Peter Pan room.

A while ago, I came across this website that provided instructions on how they took a picture of London and used that for the basis of a "window" that they painted on the wall, to be like the nursery that Wendy, John, and Michael stayed in.

Then, thanks to Lisa through Kim, they showed me this website and by searching that site, I came across this picture:

It's Peter Pan's shadow, like in the movie when his shadow gets separated from him while listening to Wendy's stories. So, tie that with the nursery from the movie:

And, there's the game plan. We won't do 3 different colors for the stripes, only 2, and depending on girl or boy, we'll change it to either pinks/purples, or blues. Then it will look like the nursery from the movie. We'll make a transparency of Peter Pan's shadow and Jason will bring home an overhead projector from school to we can trace it on the wall then paint it (it just won't be sheer like in the above picture). And, lastly, we'll get a picture of London and make it seem like it's the window looking out over the city of London. And, if it's a girl, we have to add pixie dust at the top, it's a must.

I love it! From there, we'll either do neutral colors and themes for the bedding, or solid colors. Unless it's a boy, we can do the pirate bedding they have now.

15 Weeks

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

How far along? 15 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain/loss? Down 1 from last week, back down 5 over all.

Maternity clothes? So, I don't need to be in them, but I go between wearing maternity and not.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep? Still pretty good. I've woken up almost every night once at one time this past week. Sometimes I actually have to get up to make the trip to the bathroom, others I can just get back to sleep. I'm not as tired as I was a few weeks ago most days, unless I have one of these killer headaches.

Best moment this week? Nothing really stands out to me.

Movement? Not yet.

Food cravings? Fritos and Easy Cheese were all the rage for me over the weekend, and on Monday while I was home sick. Yesterday, I wanted nothing but a cheese quesadilla from the roach coach that used to stop at work. We went to Filibertos (another new restaurant for me) to see if that would do the trick. So, far, I haven't wanted it since. But, I can't seem to get enough Smartees.

Gender? It will be a boy. We both really want a girl so we're getting a boy. More and more people though are guessing girl. In fact, only 1 person has submitted a guess of boy. We've started doing those old wives tales for determining gender (the needle and string one and such) and everything comes out boy, yet everyone but 1 person still guesses girl.

Labor signs? Nope.

What I miss? Pants will belt loops.

What I'm looking forward to? My mom and my sister coming to visit next week.

Weekly Wisdom: None this week.

Milestones: None that I can think of.

Emotions: None this week either. Pretty boring.
