Money woes

We have a good budget in place now for when our boy arrives. However, any of our additional expenses (cat food/litter, hair cuts, Jason's annual trip for clothes to start off the new school year) and we're eating into our savings.

What's the point? Well, we almost need new cat food, and guess who needs a haircut. Yup. Me. Luckily, my lady that I used moved to San Fran, so I have to find someone else. But, cheap. And, I'm just not sure if I can make myself go to a Fantastic Sams or Great Clips. A bad haircut just ruins you for months!

Any recommendations? Can they still be shaky? I know I should just do it to help with the money cost, but it's just so hard. Is that really something to worry about?

9 Weeks to Go!

How far along? 31 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Up 1 from last week, up 8 total

Maternity clothes? Every thing full time now.

Stretch marks? :( Yes. More than 2 now, all near my belly button, and they hurt! I used to get ready without clothes on to allow the lotion to dry, now I can't stand the sight of my stomach so I put on my clothes as soon as possible. At least my stomach doesn't look like this, yet.
Sleep? I wake up about once a night now. Though not because of having to get up to use the restroom, I could be burning up, I could have heartburn... It always varies! However, generally once I'm up, I have to get up to make my trip to the bathroom. Plus, my sleep is about half asleep/half awake now. Not fun.

Best moment this week? Hanging out with good friends over the weekend.

Movement? He has a cycle now... it seems like it's an every 3 hours sort of thing.

Food cravings? Otter Pops (did find some, still want them) and ice cream. And, sweet tea.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Nope. But I still am getting those ever so much fun Braxton Hicks contractions. Including another session today. I feel so sore after a session of them.

What I miss? Sweet Tea. I really want some. Pants with zippers, pants with belt loops, the cooler weather. And sleep!

What I'm looking forward to? This red neck pool party I'm going to over the weekend. Should be interesting.

Weekly Wisdom: Your subconscious does try to tell you stuff. Like my dream last night basically telling me not to worry if I feel unprepared as I will do great. In my dream I was in the Olympics competing in an urban ski race only the race started before I had my gloves on and I realized that I did not have my ski poles! End result, I somehow won the Gold medal.

Milestones: Not having scary dreams anymore!

Emotions: Excited and nervous all at once with how close it's all getting!

101 in 1001, where to go from here?

Do I even continue? I'm still doing things, I'm sure I finished my 6 months worth of movie night once a week (as we pretty much still watch a movie at least 1 night a week) and I may have seen a few more movies to add to my alphabet list, but I couldn't tell you what they are! And, I'm in the process of reading my 3rd and 4th book (if you count What to Expect When You're Expecting).

I also can say that I now currently own every Pixar movie possible (as Toy Story 3 as yet to hit theaters, much less come out on DVD). Yes, I own Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, Walle, and Up. I of course will continue to buy Pixar as they come out on DVD, so should I cross this one off or keep it on the list?

I did go to another new restaurant. We went to Five Guys when it opened near us around late April I believe, and I personally was not a fan. If I want a good fast food burger, I'll go to In N Out. Plus, the fries have this cajun seasoning on it that I DID NOT like. So, that's that.

I may or may not have succeeded in task 1, writing a post once a week for 6 months... I probably did thanks to my weekly pregnancy updates.

I don't know... I like the idea, but now I really feel like I fell off the wagon with this. I guess I'll have to think about it for a bit and decide how I want to proceed. Hmm. For now, dinner.

11 Weeks to Go!

Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

How far along? 29 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Don't know... because we're staying at the hotel, I can't step on the scale right now. I'll have another total next week.

Maternity clothes? Everything full time now.

Stretch marks? :( Yes. I have 2 small, currently red ones right around my belly button.

Sleep? I wake up about once a night now. Though not because of having to get up to use the restroom, I wake up because I'm burning up! Then, because I'm awake, I have to use the restroom. Last night I was awake because of heartburn too.

Best moment this week? My anniversary, staying in the hotel, floating in the lazy river, helping my mom and my sister who were in town finalize my shower...

Movement? He has a cycle now... it seems like it's an every 3 hours sort of thing.

Food cravings? Otter Pops

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Nope. But I still am getting those ever so much fun Braxton Hicks contractions. In fact, a few nights ago I woke up to them. I had 7, yes 7, in 30 minutes. I was starting to freak out. If number 8 happened, I was on my way to labor and delivery, but I didn't want to go because it was 2:30am!

What I miss? Sweet Tea. I really want some. Pants with zippers, pants with belt loops, the cooler weather.

What I'm looking forward to? My shower! It's on Saturday!

Weekly Wisdom: Pregnancy dreams are crazy. I had another one 2 nights ago.

Milestones: Seeing movement from the outside!

Emotions: Excited and nervous all at once with how close it's all getting!

Mini vacation

So, the hubs and I are staying this week at a local resort for a mini vacation/get away. We're still in town, I'll still be going to work, but it's relaxing not coming home if I don't want and there's something about sleeping somewhere else. We checked in Saturday, then went straight to the Suns final game of the season, though we didn't know that to begin with. Even though we lost, we left knowing that it was a terrific season and that the team played great and passed so many expectations.

I spent a good portion of yesterday hanging out in a pool before going to spend some time with my family and enjoy a BBQ. Today will be more pool time (hello lazy river) and more dinner with my family. Currently though, we're hanging out at our house to spend some time with our cats. Jason will be here most of the week during the day while I'm off at work doing month end close and dealing with an interview candidate that is now starting to creep me out to the point of being like a stalker (I might get into that later, we'll see). Then, at night, I may do dinner with my dad (he's staying in town this whole week as my shower is on Saturday) while Jason is off at his rookie member band camp. Friday I'm taking a half day to enjoy the day with my sister and, once again, more lazy river time, prior to the shower the next day. It's crazy to think that it's the week of my shower. It felt like it would never get here and now, here it is.

Now, off to watch the special on the 2010 HGTV Green House in New England. The outside of it is gorgeous!
