Ok, so I wanted to wait until I was out of the first trimester to tell my family. My mom has been wanting a grandchild since 9 months after we got married and I wanted to make her stew. But, with the job offer I got the day before, I caved and had to ask her since I know this new position will be more stress on me. But, she says that she has not told my dad, my grandma, or my sister. She wanted to tell my dad and I told her no, it was not her secret to tell it was ours.
So, anyway, now we're going to announce it on Christmas. Or, that's the plan.
We're going to do a family photo shoot in town on Tuesday.
We bought ornaments for each family member. My parents is Mr. and Mrs. Claus holding "the list" and it says grandpa and grandma to be. My grandma is a snowman holding a baby snowman and it says great grandma to be. My sister always says that she will be Aunty Lauren so she gets a yellow star and it says Aunty Lauren to be.
Do we give the presents for them to open on Christmas morning or do we give them during the photo shoot to capture their reactions (mainly my sister's) on camera?
I can tell you we bought "I love grandma" and "I love grandpa" bibs to give to the in-laws and they can open those on Christmas Eve when we do Christmas with his family.
What do you think?
