On a positive note

Number 50. Vote in a Non Presidential election.

I receive mail in ballots for each election. Normally I don't pay attention to them unless it's a huge election.. Ok, the Presidential election. But, now seeing what can happen if you don't vote or vote no on the budget overrides for school districts first hand... I wanted to be sure that I voted in this election for the school district that we live in even though its not the one that Jason teaches in. So, I filled it out (both of them, I got one for the override and one for city council) and put it in the mail this afternoon.

Number 86. Drink 4 glasses of water a day for 30 days.

Ok, drinking water is not all that exciting I know. I'm just putting it here so you all know that I am currently working on this one. Day 2 is down!

Number 89. Workout/train 4 days a week for 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks.

Sunday I went out for a run. It was nice getting back to it but at the same time, I've been sitting around for too long! That was hard!

Need some time to readjust

I have to say, I have no idea how Lisa did it. And, in one of her more recent posts she talks about how it can sometimes still hurt. Nor, do I know how Vanessa handles it knowing that she has her special appointment tomorrow.

I'm very happy for everyone that is getting pregnant, I really am. And, I know we're pushing the 6 month mark for us on our TTC journey (because that is really what this is) and don't panic as everything on my side from last week checked out ok. So, I'm not panicking. It's hard not to get down though when every other day it seems that someone else has news to share. Why does my fever have to be hitting at the time when there is this crazy baby boom going on? Why couldn't it be after the boom has happened or before it?

So, I am thankful that currently it has only been 6 months and that at least I know that I'm ok (for now). If we really push a long time then we'll get the hubs checked out. Though, it would also help if I had a hubs that was willing to participate on this journey with me. I'm not saying that he doesn't want a baby, I'm saying that these past few months and through mid next month he's always tired. The bags under his eyes are back. He comes home, wants to forget about his work day and zone out to the tv and go to bed. I can't TTC with him like that. It's not fair to me nor is it fair to him.

With all that said though, I think I'm going to step back from the rush of all this stuff. I think while I figure out how I want to approach this and handle this I want to stop charting after this month (since I'm half way through this cycle) and just let things happen. It's not fun right now and it needs to be. There's pressure that I don't want around me right now. I want to sit back and enjoy this but while I figure out how best to do that, some of the chat boards I normally visit I may not as much. Not because I'm afraid of another positive pregnancy test from someone else but because I'm not ready for questions or comments or words of encouragement or discouragement. I want for Jason and I to figure this out and how to deal with this as it is something that we are both hearing about now and go from there.

Of course, now having said that, should I be expecting my positive result? If one could only be so lucky.

More progress

9. Have a movie night once a week for 6 months.

This past weekend we hung out at my parents house. They have their permanent house here but are currently living in San Francisco as their jobs are in the bay area. They hope to have this house as their retirement house in the (hopefully) not so distant future. But, they come in every few weekends and hang out. On the off weekends, we try to go over to make it look like people are there. So, we go to hang out while they're not in town, take a ride on the boat (oh yeah, the house is on a lake) and hang out. While surfing the Direct TV channels (well, the movie channels) we were bummed to see that nothing exciting was on so we settled on Shrek. It was originally the Abyss, but underwater scenes freak me out. Even though I'm a swimmer, before I became a swimmer I almost drowned in Mexico on vacation and have never looked at ocean swimming the same way or anything under the water. So, I changed it and we went to Shrek. I've come to love Shrek 2 so much that I forgot all the great parts of the original, how they throw all sorts of movies into it and not just cartoons, or references to things that only adults and teens would catch and not little kids, the quotes! I love it when Donkey tries to move in with Shrek and says that they're going to stay up late swapping "manly stories" and he says "and in the morning - I'm making Waffles!". I love it.

13. Try 10 new restaurants

My first new restaurant was this place called Thee Pits Again. It looks like a 5 and Diner cafe from the outside and its actually quite similar on the inside except that you have pigs everywhere. Trophies with pigs on top for what I assume would be best in show, statues, figurines... All sorts of pig stuff. Needless to say, this place was a BBQ place. I had been curious about it driving past but then I found out that it was on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on the Food Network so I knew it couldn't be too bad. Jason had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a beef brisket sandwich. We both had fries and ordered a side of corn bread (I love me some corn bread). I quite enjoyed my beef brisket sandwich though I'd say half of it fell back out onto my plate! The fries I thought were delish! The corn bread I have to admit I was disappointed in as it was a little on the dry side for me. We can add this to our rotation and it will be a good BBQ place for when we don't want to drive down to Lucille's at Tempe Marketplace (though I could go for some of their sweet tea right now!). Plus, it's a much cheaper option than Lucille's!

99. Watch a movie starting with each letter of the alphabet

Last night, while Jason watched the Cardinals play, I watched Marie Antoinette, the Kirsten Dunst movie. I grabbed a whole bunch of movies that I have not seen from my parents collection (like Netflix, but better!) and this was what I started with. I think I missed the part where all of France hates her... Granted, the movie is loosely based on her life, but I guess I thought it would have played a bigger role since they executed her by guillotine. I watched the movie not knowing much about Marie Antoinette so once I finished I had to google and read some highlights of her life so I knew what was true and such. Otherwise - I dunno. I doubt I'd watch it again, but I didn't hate it, it was enjoyable for me to watch. And, I thought it was crazy to see Molly Shannon in a period piece! I must say though, that I am glad that they did not show the execution at the end, though I would have preferred a little more of an ending, to me it felt like it just stopped. I guess like how the Sopranos ended (from what I hear at least).

19. Play mini golf once a year

Yesterday was the SixthMan tip off party for the Phoenix Suns at Crackerjacks. We had free reign over the whole area and free use of the bumper boats, go carts and mini golf. So, we played a round of mini golf! There was this one whole that just destroyed us but I am proud to say that I beat Jason! I won +9 to +14! I guess I shouldn't try to golf for a profession, huh?!

Things to Blog about

I must share with you my first new restaurant, Thee Pits Again, our weekly movie night, and the letter M movie, Marie Antoinette. Hopefully I can do one of those tomorrow.

Making more progress

Now that I have this list, I feel like that's all I'm going to talk about! Don't worry, the Suns season officially begins next week and I'm sure I'll have stuff to talk about on them!

Number 49. Take Ballroom Dance lessons

So, Wednesday was my second night of ballroom dance lessons. I learned the Tango and the Cha Cha. I was not by myself for class that night as 2 other people came and one who helps out was hanging out waiting for the Swing class later that night. So, I learned the Tango. I'm not a fan of the Tango. My knees kept hitting my partner's knees when that leg didn't move for either of us! And, our feet would bump each other yet once again, our legs didn't move! So, not a fan of Tango. I did like Cha Cha though. I have a feeling that I'm going to like the Latin dances more than the American dances (Waltz, Tango, next week is Foxtrot). But, of course, I'm still looking forward to swing. And, that is next week. Yippe! I'm told that the Wednesday night crash course Swing is East Coast Swing and I'm pretty sure I did West Coast Swing 10 years ago. So, it should be new for me. Once marching band season is over, I'm going in on Monday nights for West Coast Swing. I'm excited!

Number 99. Watch a movie starting with each letter of the alphabet.

My parents have weird taste for movies. They go all the time and then my dad will go to the store or Amazon and just buy random movies. So, while I was hanging out at their house last week, I picked up The House Bunny (will file this under the letter H). I didn't realize that it was a Happy Madison movie. It reminded me of Legally Blonde (with the sorority parts) meets, well, I'm not sure. But, it was sort of cute, sort of corny, and sort of "why am I watching this?". But, it was entertainment, and I didn't feel like I wasted 90 minutes of my life, so that's good. Another movie done.

No real cause for concern

So, I had my follow up doctor's appointment yesterday to go over my test results.

In short (since that is all the time I have)... she sees what the previous office saw to diagnose PCOS, but she doesn't agree. It's the smallest factor to use when determining it and given that my previous blood test was done on a random cycle day, there was really no way to determine if the hormone ratio was where it was supposed to be. She did say that my testosterone level is at the high normal level, but, ok otherwise.

So, there we have it. There's more to it, but just no time to continue posting about it.
