Now, with the appointment coming on Thursday, I'm trying to decide questions I want to ask my doctor, and I have one. What are my travel limitations? With wanting to go to New York in April and possibly New Zealand in March and I would love to take a trip to Alaska... I will need to know! But, I'm sure there are others that I should ask. Oh, I guess I can ask her thoughts on the Swine Flu vaccine. Ok, so 2 questions. I have no idea what I need to know!
On top of that, I felt fantastic today. No morning sickness at all. In fact, I actually got out of bed without eating a thing this morning and did not have to take Dramamine or wear my Sea Bands (my wrists are very thankful!). I'm beyond thrilled by this, I just hope it doesn't return with a vengeance (I start my new job tomorrow) or something else. If it is something else, then it is what it is. I'm prepared for it and it just means that something was wrong with the baby and it's better to get it out now than to let it go the whole way and not be able to survive once being born. I understand that am am ready for that result. But, I hope that's not the case. I guess I may be on pins and needles till Thursday at 8:45. I wonder if I can get my ultrasound first before the questions/medical history/pap?

Don't worry about questions, I think if I remember correctly we have the same dr. She's WONDERFUL! Tell her right off you'd like to see an ultrasound right away that you're feeling nervous. They are great about wheeling in the machine and taking care of you. If you want the play by play of your appt or anything e-mail me and I'll lay it out. It's nice since we have the same dr hehe. You should be ok travel wise but I say ask so you know, if nothing else you're going to be more comfortable. And remember I'm here if you have any questions I'm so happy to answer them! Congrats again Katie you deserve all the happiness in the world!
Here is what I know from being there and everyone is different. but this is what I did, I started a prenatal asap as soon as I found out I went out and got some. I also started making lists etc of what I needed to know but to be honest your first appt is generally the longest one ever and they go over everything with you.. as far as travel I was told you can travel up to 32 weeks as long as you have no complications. I went to Mexico in may and I was due July.. but I talked to her about it and she was cool with it as long as I didnt eat the food or drink the water. :0) They tell you no soda - caffiene blah blah, but to be honest the carbanation helped with my M/S which I had very little of THANK GOD!!
Drink OJ- its good vitiman C and full of Folic Acid. hmmm thats all I can think of for now..
Don't worry about your levels - they usually don't ask you to do this unless if you have had issues in the past. They also didn't inform me what to do/not to do over the phone before the appt - the Mayo clinic book is a great resource and your dr. will give you lots of handouts to read. You are definitely not behind so try not to stress! Keep me posted on what your doctor says about travel - that is one question I forgot to ask. I googled "first appointment pregnancy questions" to get some ideas of what to ask at my appt. Something that I wasn't doing that my doc recommended was an extra DHA supplement (if you prenatal doesn't already have that in it) - they can give you a sample at the office to try. I hope you have a wonderful first appointment and you get to see your little bean :)
